We love working on weddings with Sue and the team at White Wedding & Event Company, and this wedding was no exception. We shot this stunning Scalby Marquee Wedding in Scarborough on a typical summer day this year – we saw lots of both sun and rain, but nothing could dampen this day – it was glorious from start to finish!
Bridal prep started for Christie at her parents stunning home with Naomi Stone on make up duty. Naomi’s calm, smiley and gentle way is incredible and her work is a real skill something all brides should aim to have. The house itself was buzzing but had a gentle calm to it as it was filled full of beautiful flowers from Kirsty Berridge at Miniee Bee’s (that staircase – was simply stunning!!). The boys got ready at nearby Wrea Head Hall over sandwiches and champagne.
The heavens well and truly opened as Christie was arriving to church, so it was umbrellas all the way into the shelter of the church. The service was beautiful with extra special touches from the couples children and the sweet sounds of the Vernon Sisters. After the service we had fun with confetti and headed back to the reception marquee. Where once again rain decide to appear for a short spell. So everyone got to enjoy their drinks inside the incredible Mahoods Marquee, enjoying the floral delights of Fulford Flowers before enjoying the sunshine on the lawns before they sat for fabulous speeches (I don’t think I will ever forget Christophers Biggins brilliant and witty line at the end of his Grace – “Gentlemen you can now take off your jackets and ladies you can take off your bras”!
Once Yorkshire Party Company fed and watered all the guests beautifully – with each course looking like a masterpiece. It was onto cocktail hour and then the amazing first dance – choreographed and staging by Londons west ends best. This first dance was sheer perfection. followed by singing and dancing by all entertained by The Faithettes (Paloma Faiths band. WOW they were good – Dom fell just a bit in love with them!!
We can honestly say this is was stunning wedding with lovely genuine people everywhere and two people who simply shone with love for each other when they were together. Christie and Ben, Thank you for trusting us to shoot your wedding, we love you both and hope you love these images.
