Orangery Settrington, Victoria & Richard’s Yorkshire Wedding
Victoria & Richard got married at the picturesque exclusive venue of The Orangery at Settrington, which is a stones throw from nearby Malton, near one of our fav venues Birdsall House. It was our first time shooting here as they limit themselves to 15 weddings a year, so we were looking forward to it- especially as we were working alongside a lot of our wonderful wedding industry friends, The Rarified, Story of your Day, Poppy Pickering and Yorkshire Party Company.
Victoria and Rich (but, as mentioned in Rich’s speech, mostly Victoria) had created 1000 origami cranes to be around the day, symbolising the place they got engaged. They were on each place setting and hung on a structure that was placed in front of them during the ceremony and behind them during the speeches. It was lovely to have such a personal touch as such a feature of the day.
During the morning, Victoria got ready in the cottage on the grounds of the Estate, and we met Rich once he’d arrived to share the hairdresser, while Victoria got ready upstairs. The service was held in the hall, full of the most amazing and beautiful smelling flowers I had smelt all year. Once the service was over and the confetti thrown, we spent some time with the couple in the grounds before speeches and food and dancing. It was a lovely day, perfect weather after a year of pretty strange weather – this one was a scorcher!
