On the 29th September we shot Anne and Peter’s wedding at Castle Howard. For those of you who don’t know Castle Howard, it is one of Yorkshires finest historic house & estates. It is a magnificent 18th century residence set within a 1000 acres of breath taking landscape, a real dream venue to get married. Jane Nordli and her team are on hand all day to make your day as special as it can be, and they certainly did that with this wedding!
We started the day by one of us going to capture Anne getting ready in her stunning Andrea Bambridge dress at home, which was very calm and relaxed, with her parents, and bridemaids although we think the strawberries and champagne may have been helping. Whilst the other one of us went to catch up with Peter, Peter Ben (Peter’s Son) suited in York Suit Hire finest at the Cedar Court Grand Hotel in York.
The ceremony was at 5pm, so afterwards we quickly whisked Anne & Peter away and around Castle Howards stunning gardens for 10mins to capture the remaining natural light before the much wanted confetti on the steps shot and then sitting down for their wedding breakfast. Castle Howards volunteers do a fabulous job on weddings being on hand for guides of the 3 rooms that create the walkway from the Great Hall to the Dining room, giving us a few minutes to take a shot or two of the couple within the building itself – we chose to take a shot down the corridor that had given Anne goosebumps just thinking of walking down it weeks before the big day.
After dinner and speeches the wedding party moved downstairs to be greeted by Luma to sing Anne and Peter’s first dance, which they both sung along to. We were so looking forward to Peter’s dancing skills as they had been the mention of many a joke throughout the day.
It was a pleasure spending the day with Anne, Peter and their family and friends, and we wish them all the best in the future, we hope you enjoy their images as much as we enjoyed taking them.
